Senator Isiaka Adeleke who represents Osun West senatorial at the National Assembly has been reported dead.
He was elected the first civilian governor of Osun state in 1992 and remained in office till 1993 when the military took over.
In 2007, he won an election to represent Osun West senatorial district as candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was succeeded in 2011 by Mr Mudashiru Hussein whom he had earlier defeated in 2007.
Senator Isiaka Adeleke was popular musician, Davido‘s uncle. He was aged 62.
The senator became a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state after decamping from the PDP ahead of the 2015 general elections.
He is believed to have been highly instrumental to the electoral success of the APC in Osun at the 2014 governorship election and the 2015 presidential election.
According to Sahara Reporters, family sources revealed that Senator Isiaka Adeleke died at the Biket Hospital in Osogbo, capital of Osun state, after a heart attack.
He is also known to have offered scholarship opportunities at his university to various persons including a lady who allegedly suffered sexual harassment at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
